BioOften described as a “dark themed photographer with a quirky sense of humor”, James King's work avers many things and tends to be construed differently by everyone. Gothic, fetish, and glam-trash are just some of the various themes that he explores with his images.
He likes creating dichotomy. Sometimes a particular image may contain several contradictory elements, intermingling subjects such as beauty, sex, decay, and wit to
tell a story, thus making it hard to put his most of his work in a single
category.
The females in James' photos are always strong figures. Most of
the time they are placed in undesirable environments, but they never seem
trapped by these surroundings. These women are powerful, yet they always
stay true to their feminine emotions.
